You want to move well and feel good in your body. But something keeps getting in the way.

Most of our members come to us after years of trying things that didn't quite fit - big gyms that felt intimidating, classes where nobody noticed if you were struggling, or exercise that just felt like a chore.

If any of the following sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

  • Stiffness, back pain, or achy joints that are getting worse - not better
  • Loss of confidence in your body after 40 - feeling less strong, less like yourself
  • Big gyms or large reformer classes that feel overwhelming and impersonal
  • Wanting to stay strong and mobile - but struggling to stay consistent
  • Navigating perimenopause or recovering from surgery, and needing something that actually helps

The Pilates Corner community
"I've been a member since June 2025. I wish I'd joined sooner. The pain in my knee has gone and I no longer need a knee support to walk the dog. I'm absolutely delighted."
"At 49 I feel stronger than ever. Since joining, my whole mindset has changed - exercise is no longer a chore, I love my sessions."
"The Pilates Corner has helped me turn my life around after illness. The love and support, together with firm, professional teaching, has improved my fitness, resilience, flexibility and self-esteem."
"Whenever I'm asked why I travel to Baldock for a pilates class, this is my answer: in class I feel like I am really seen and treated as an individual."
"My lower back problems have vastly improved since joining. You can work to your own ability whilst still pushing yourself. The teachers are brilliant at what they do."
"Being a member of The Pilates Corner is being part of a family. I love being part of it - your instructor will become your friend and you'll have fun while getting fitter."
"At 86 I find the 45 minutes enjoyable and they help to strengthen my core and balance. I would recommend this class to everyone."

Still wondering if it's for you?

"Will I be the oldest or least fit person there?"
Our members range from their 30s to their 90s. Brian does chair pilates at 86. Jean joined at 80 after moving to Baldock. Every exercise is adapted to where you are that day - on a good day or a hard one.
"I've never done pilates before - is it too complicated?"
Many of our longest-standing members started as complete beginners. Every class has multiple levels - you'll never be made to feel out of place or unable to keep up. We adapt to you, not the other way around.
"How much does it cost?"
A £25 standalone induction if you want to try first, or a £79 intro offer - induction plus 4 group classes over 3 weeks. After that, membership from £69/month (12-month) or £79/month (3-month flexible). We put the price on the page because you deserve to know.
"I have a health condition / I'm recovering from surgery."
This is one of the most common reasons people find us. We adapt every exercise individually. Members come to us with back pain, hip replacements, chronic pain, post-surgery recovery, and more.
"What if my schedule is unpredictable?"
We offer morning, afternoon, and evening classes, plus online Zoom sessions for days when you can't make it in. You can move your class to fit around family and work life.
"Is it just exercise, or something more?"
Members tell us it's their hour in the week to regroup, their community, their social life, their reset button. Theatre trips, seasonal events, social activities. It really is more than a pilates class.
