What Our Members Are Saying About The Pilates Corner

Ann Johnson, 72,  Stevenage

Everyone is included

No matter what ability you have or if you're a complete beginner you're made to feel welcome, and never self-conscious/embarrassed - instead you're encouraged with patience - and lessons are always fun

Mercedes, 62, Stevenage

Made to feel welcome

From the first day I was always made to feel welcome, with a personal warm friendly greeting. Classes are as challenging as you choose, and exercises adapted to your needs, in my case a frozen shoulder and a few years ago recovery from a broken leg. I love doing the classes and the relaxation session at the end of each class. They help with my flexibility and personal wellbeing I so recommend trying it.

Liz Holmes, 47, Baldock

Personalised for you

The thing I love most about The Pilates Corner is the small class size which facilitates personalised instruction and feedback. Also the range of levels offered for each exercise and the relaxing ambience in the studio – very relaxing considering its an exercise class!

The Pilates Corner Can Help You

At The Pilates Corner we understand you are the kind of person who wants to feel supported and seen whist enjoying exercise with other people that are just like you.

The challenge is finding a class that is right for you, not too hard that you feel embarrassed that you can't do it, nor too easy that you feel it's not worth the effort. A class that is small enough that you know your instructor is able to keep an eye on you, but not so small that you feel scrutinised. A class that isn't full of "young bunnies" but women (and men) of a similar age to you; the majority of our clients are women aged between 30-65.

We believe that everybody should be able to work at the right level for them, thats why we insist on layering each exercise in every class. We understand you may have limitations that need adaptations, and our experienced instructors will guide you to the right way of doing things for your body.

Our varied timetable is designed to offer a range of classes suitable for all capabilities, whatever your age or experience, giving you the freedom to attend at a time and day that suits you. Whether thats the same class each week or a mixture of days and time that works for your lifestyle.

Here’s how it works

Book a call with us, it's time to stop waiting for "the right" time to introduce Pilates into your life and decide to actually give it a try. You could be like the majority of our members that wish they'd started with us sooner.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price to attend?

If you are looking for a fitness solution based purely on price we may be the wrong fit for you.  We believe in delivering exceptional value, our prices start from £65 a month. Find out how we can help you, just arrange a call now.

Do I need to bring any equipment?

We supply all the equipment you need to participate in our classes however you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. We do ask that you bring a small towel to cover the head cushions we supply.

Where are you based?

Our studio is located in the Baldock Industrial Estate behind Tesco. Access is from London Road by the traffic lights near the Tesco roundabout.

How many people are in each class?

We never have more than 12 people in any studio Pilates class. For Barre, Small Equipment and Trigger Point Pilates the maximum is 10 per class.

What should I wear to class?

Anything that you are comfortable and able to move easily in. Socks or Bare feet (no trainers). Most people wear leggings and t-shirts. We recommend wearing layers that are easy to remove as your body gets warm in class.

Where can I park?

We have a small carpark directly outside the studio which we ask is saved for clients that are less able, or those that are running late. For daytime classes we recommend parking in the Tesco Click and Collect car park and taking the 2 minute walk round to the studio. For evening classes you can park anywhere close to the studio as all other units around us are closed (with the exception of the Jiujitsu Gym immediately next to us).

Do I have to do the same class every week?

You have the option to reserve a spot in your favourite class if you wish, however you don't have to, some of our clients prefer to do a different class each week as their work/life commitments permit.

How do I book my classes?

Our booking app Momence makes it super easy to book your classes up to 8 weeks in advance and cancel up to 12 hours in advance. If you find a class you want to do on a regular basis just let us know and we can book you a recurring reservation (subject to availability).

If I can't make it to a class what happens?

As long as you cancel at least 12 hours before the class you will get your credit back to be used against another class.

You are allocated 4, 8 or 12 classes in every 28 day period, depending on your membership. If a class is missed you have until the end of your 28 day period PLUS 14 days to reschedule. This is the same if you are to go away on holiday or are unwell.

What happens if I go on holiday, do I lose my classes?

No, you just need to rebook the classes you will miss in the same month, this may mean doubling up classes on one or two weeks depending on how long you are away for.

Is there a pay as you go option?

We believe that regular attendance in class is the only way to see real results, so our memberships are set up as a monthly subscription to help you stay on track.

If a class is full can I go on a waiting list?

Yes, all of our classes have an option to go on a waiting list if a class is full.

Do you have an option to attend classes online?

Yes, all of our studio classes can be attended via Zoom, either with class credits or with an unlimited Zoom membership. We do ask for you to have a few items of equipment to be allow you to participate fully for this option.

Can I attend extra classes on top of my main membership classes?

Absolutely, you can buy Pilates Plus packs of 4,8 or 12 credits to boost your membership.
