I'm Emma Lovelock, founder of The Pilates Corner - an award-winning mat-based Pilates studio in Baldock, Hertfordshire. Since opening in 2021, we've built a genuinely special community of members, many of whom have been with us for years.
Our clients are mainly women aged 40-65, many managing arthritis, osteoporosis, spinal conditions, post-surgery recovery, and age-related mobility challenges. They don't need high-intensity. They need brilliantly taught, safe, functional Pilates - and a teacher who really sees them.

Who we're looking for
Mat-based Pilates instructors confident in delivering three core areas.
Mixed-ability classes
You're confident managing a room with varying levels of experience, fitness, and physical limitation - and you know how to keep everyone progressing safely.
Low-intensity functional movement
You understand that functional Pilates isn't about aesthetics - it's about mobility, stability, and daily quality of life. You can deliver that with care and precision.
The right instructor will be someone who...
- Teaches beyond the textbook - you understand your clients as individuals, not just a set of exercises to run through.
- Adapts on the fly - when a client comes in with a new complaint, a new limitation, or a bad day, you adjust without missing a beat.
- Leads with kindness, clarity, and confidence - your clients feel safe, seen, and genuinely cared for in every session.
- Wants to embed themselves in a community - not just fill a slot, but become part of something that matters to real people.

What you'll need to apply
Essential requirements
- Level 3 Mat-Based Pilates qualification
- A recognised Pre & Postnatal qualification
- A recognised qualification in Orthopaedic Conditions
- At least 12 months' teaching experience
- Confidence working with clients who need modifications, support, and clear instruction
- A calm, encouraging teaching style that makes everyone feel seen
Bonus points if you have...
- Experience teaching Chair Pilates or working with clients aged 60+
- A background in physiotherapy, rehab, or clinical exercise
- A warm, personable presence and great communication skills
- Flexibility to cover other classes on the timetable (especially daytime)
