Do I need to do a 1-2-1 session?
In this article
For most people, no. Our group classes are small enough, a maximum of 12, that you get genuinely personal attention within them. Your instructor knows your body, your history and your modifications, and will adapt exercises for you as the class runs. That's not a watered-down version of one-to-one teaching; for most bodies and most goals, it's plenty.
There are situations where a one-to-one session is worth it. If you're coming back from surgery or a significant injury and want careful, individual assessment before joining classes. If you have a complex condition and want a programme built specifically around it. If you're completely new and very anxious, and an hour of private attention would get you over the threshold. Or if you're experienced and want to dig into something specific, a technique, a niggle, a goal.
A duet, two people with one instructor, is a nice middle option too, popular with couples and friends.
If you're unsure, start with the £79 Intro Offer, induction plus 4 classes, and see how you get on in the group setting. Most people discover they never needed anything more. If we think you'd genuinely benefit from one-to-one time, we'll say so, honestly and without a sales pitch.
