What if I am sensitive to cold?
In this article
You're in good company, plenty of our members feel the cold, and we've made sure the studio works for you.
The studio is kept comfortably warm, not gym-draughty and not tropical either. Because classes are small, a maximum of 12 people, the room holds its warmth nicely, and once you start moving you'll usually warm up within the first ten minutes anyway. Pilates might look gentle from the outside, but done properly it generates real internal heat.
A few practical tips from our cold-sensitive regulars. Dress in layers: a long-sleeved top over a t-shirt means you can peel one off as you warm up and pull it back on for the relaxation at the end. Socks with grips are very welcome here, and some members keep a light jumper on the whole way through class. Nobody bats an eyelid. Wear whatever keeps you comfortable.
If you're joining us on Zoom from a chilly house, the same applies, and at least at home you've got full control of the thermostat and a blanket for the cooldown. Some of our Zoom members are quite famous for their blanket game.
The short version: tell us if you run cold, layer up, and you'll be perfectly comfortable. Feeling the cold is common, completely manageable, and absolutely no reason to miss out.
