Yes, absolutely, and you're far from the only one. We have members who've had knee replacements, hip replacements, and other joint surgeries, and Pilates is often exactly what their bodies need once they're cleared to exercise.

The key is telling us before you start. In your induction, we'll ask about your surgery, when it was, what your surgeon or physio said, and any movements you still need to avoid. From that point on, every exercise is adapted for you. We change positions, reduce range, add support, and find ways to build strength around the joint without aggravating it.

Emma's Level 4 qualification includes specialist knowledge in orthopaedic conditions, and the team is experienced in working with post-surgery bodies. We know which movements tend to help and which ones need care, and we'll always err on the side of caution.

You won't be expected to keep up with anyone else. Your class will be layered, so you work at the level that suits your replacement and your recovery stage. Many members tell us that Pilates helps them feel steadier, stronger and more confident walking, stairs, gardening, all the ordinary things that matter.

Bring any medical guidance with you, listen to your body, and let us do the rest.
