What if I can't get to the floor?

Then you don't have to, and it definitely doesn't mean Pilates isn't for you.
We have several options for people who find getting up and down from the floor difficult. The most popular is Chair Pilates, where most or all of the class is done seated or standing using a chair for support. It's a proper Pilates session, not a watered-down version, and it's brilliant for building strength, balance and mobility without the floor work.
In our regular mat classes, we can also adapt exercises so you stay seated or standing for the whole session. Your instructor will know this about you from your induction and will plan alternatives in advance. With a maximum of 12 people in the class, we have the space and time to make sure you're comfortable and looked after.
Many of our members started exactly where you are, worried that the floor was a barrier. Some stay in chair or adapted classes long-term. Others find, after a few months of building strength and confidence, that the floor becomes manageable again. Both outcomes are a win.
The important thing is that you can still take part, still get stronger, and still feel the benefits. We'll find the right version for you.
