What if I'm not strong enough?
In this article
You don't need to be strong to start Pilates. Getting stronger is what Pilates is for. It's a bit like saying you're too dirty to have a bath.
Every exercise we teach starts at a foundation level that genuinely anyone can do. Can't hold a plank? You won't be asked to. You'll build up to things gradually, with easier versions, shorter holds, more support and more rest whenever you need it. Your instructor adapts every exercise to your body, not the other way round.
This is exactly why everyone starts with an induction. In that first 90-minute session we find out where your body is right now, not where you think it should be, and from that point on everything you do in class is pitched at your level. In a class of 12 or fewer, we can do that properly, for every single person, every single session.
And here's what we see time and time again: the people who arrive convinced they're not strong enough are often the ones who progress fastest. Not because they're naturally gifted, but because they start carefully, build consistently, and don't injure themselves trying to keep up with anyone.
Strength isn't the entry requirement. It's the result. Come as you are, we'll build the rest together.
